Hello everyone, we are a family of 5 (Mark, Lisa, Bailie, Tarance, Kaylie). We keep busy making our meals and home products from scratch.
In 2013 was the start to our family going gluten free. It has been a great blessing to us as over the last couple of years we have all figured out how gluten impacts our bodies. For me (Lisa) I gave it up the day after having Kaylie’s birthday cake we had orders just before me getting my food sensitivity test results. The other family members would eat gluten when out and about but our home has been pretty much gluten free since 2013. As I am impacted by even cross contamination of gluten.
In April of 2015 Mark and I did elimination diet removing grains completely. At that time we noticed the impact gluten was having on our son Tarance. In June 2015 gluten and dairy was removed from Tarance diet for three weeks. Wow what an impact it had on his brain. At this time he was 4 1/2 years old and had only slept through the night maybe 7 times. He was still waking up 3-4 times a night prior to removing gluten and dairy at 4 1/2 years old. When Tarance was a baby we would bring up how much he was waking up and not sleeping though the night, but the Doctors passed it off as being normal. I always knew there was something more. So remember we know our bodies best and we have to be our own advocates and health detectives.
Prior to 2013, I had changed how our family at in in the winter of 2011 as Nutritional Weight and Wellness came to my work places for a series of nutrition and health topics.
